Uzbek dance day in Moscow

MOSCOW, September 4. /Dunyo IA/. On the occasion of the 34th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s Independence, the Embassy of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the Moscow Ensemble of Uzbek Dance and the Central Asian Dance Company "Bakhor Raqs" under the artistic direction of Kristina Surganova, organized an event titled "Uzbek Dance Day" at the Uzbekistan Pavilion of the VDNH Exhibition Complex in Moscow, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The Moscow Ensemble of Uzbek and Central Asian Dance "Bakhor Raqs" is a professional artistic troupe representing the stage dance traditions of the peoples of Central Asia. The ensemble’s activities are dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich choreographic heritage of Uzbek national dance, while fostering intercultural dialogue through the universal language of dance.
The "Bakhor Raqs" Ensemble presented an extensive and captivating program featuring more than 25 dance performances, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of all regions of Uzbekistan. Special emphasis was placed on the Andijan, Tashkent, and Khorezm schools of dance, which served as vivid examples of the country’s national identity and artistic diversity.
Renowned for its colorful costumes and expressive stage choreography, the ensemble further enriched its repertoire with performances representing the cultural traditions of Armenia, India, China, and Russia.
The concert also featured performances by several Moscow-based creative groups, including the ensembles "Ulybka", "Ivanteyevka", and "Spitamen". Musical accompaniment was provided by talented compatriots — Guzal Burkhanova, a former soloist of the renowned group Setora, and emerging artist Bakhriddin Doniyorov.
A special highlight of the program was the series of masterclasses led by Kristina Surganova, which offered both Muscovites and visitors to the capital a unique opportunity to explore the distinctive elegance and expressive techniques of Uzbek national dance. The interactive format was met with an enthusiastic response from the audience, transforming the event into a vibrant celebration of cultural dialogue and unity through the art of dance.
Audience members warmly congratulated the people of Uzbekistan on the occasion of the national holiday and offered high praise for the performances, commending the expressive beauty and rich cultural depth of the country’s traditional dances:
Ekaterina Vinokurova, Representative of Rosselkhozbank, noted:

The most exquisite and refined exhibition is presented at the pavilion, and indeed, everything the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation undertakes is a "true hallmark of quality".
