An official reception dedicated to the 34th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s state independence held in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, September 3. /Dunyo IA/. An official reception dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan was organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Islamabad, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event was attended by representatives of the Government of Pakistan, including Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain, members of the Senate, senior officials of government agencies, diplomats, representatives of civil society organizations, business and academic circles, media representatives, as well as active members of the Uzbek community in Pakistan.
In his address, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtaev, highlighted the comprehensive reforms being implemented in our country and its sustainable economic development. In particular, he emphasized the strong economic and investment performance achieved by Uzbekistan in recent years.
"Relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan have been elevated to the level of a strategic partnership, - said Ambassador. - The Joint declaration and the Protocol on the establishment of the high-level strategic partnership council, signed by the leaders of the two countries, hold historic significance and have laid a solid foundation for long-term cooperation. Equally important for regional integration is the project for the construction of the "Uzbekistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan Railway".
In his speech, Minister for Railways of Pakistan Muhammad Hanif Abbasi congratulated the President and the people of Uzbekistan on the occasion of Independence Day and extended his best wishes for peace and prosperity. He also highlighted the shared history and common cultural values that closely unite the two countries, praised Uzbekistan as a key partner in the region, and expressed support for the consistent efforts to increase the volume of mutual trade.
As part of the event, a photo exhibition was presented, dedicated to the socio-economic and cultural life of Uzbekistan, as well as its achievements in foreign policy. The exhibition also showcased traditional handicrafts, musical instruments, and books. The ceremony continued with a festive dinner accompanied by performances of national songs by invited artists from the Khorezm region.
It is noteworthy that on September 1, a congratulatory video celebrating the State Independence Day of Uzbekistan was broadcast throughout the day on the large screen at the "Mövenpick" Hotel, the tallest hotel building in Islamabad.
