HATAY, January 29. /Dunyo IA/. The construction of the “Uzbek Residential Complex” for families affected by the earthquake has been completed in Türkiye’s Hatay Province, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Uzbekistan was among the first countries to provide humanitarian aid and send a team of Emergency Ministry rescuers to Türkiye following the natural disaster. In February-March 2023, 60 Uzbek rescuers, equipped with emergency response machinery, worked at the earthquake-affected sites in Hatay.

In addition, as part of efforts to support the affected population, and with the assistance of the Government of Uzbekistan in cooperation with Türkiye’s Housing Development Administration (TOKİ), “Uzbekiston Mahallasi” residential complex was constructed in the Arsuz district of Hatay Province.

Situated on the Mediterranean coast, the complex spans 2.2 hectares and comprises 24 residential buildings with a total of 306 apartments. Each apartment has been fully fitted with interior finishes, water and electricity systems, solar panels for water heating and basic household appliances. The complex also includes playgrounds, sports facilities, parking areas and leisure gazebos.

“Uzbekiston Mahallasi” is part of a larger 45-hectare urban development project by the Turkish side, which will feature 3,093 apartments across 270 buildings, including mosques, a school and other social and communal infrastructure.

The “Uzbekiston Mahallasi” project symbolizes the trust, solidarity and mutual respect between Uzbekistan and Turkey.
