Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan and Ambassador of Kazakhstan discussed prospects for involving Afghanistan in the process of regional connectivity

TASHKENT, February 4. /Dunyo IA/. The Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met yesterday with Beibut Atamkulov, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to the MFA, during the meeting, the current state of bilateral cooperation on Afghanistan was discussed. Sides underscored their interest in continuing regular dialogue on the resolution of the Afghan issue.
Beibut Atamkulov highly appreciated Uzbekistan’s efforts aimed at shaping a unified regional position on Afghanistan.
An exchange of views also took place on the prospects for involving Afghanistan in the processes of regional connectivity, in particular regarding the implementation of the Trans-Afghan railway project.
The meeting was held in a constructive spirit and confirmed mutual interest in further developing practical dialogue between Tashkent and Astana.
