Ambassador of Uzbekistan presents cooperation priorities with Malaysia in interview with "Bernama TV"

KUALA LUMPUR, March 29. /Dunyo IA/. The Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Karomiddin Gadoev, gave an interview to "Bernama TV", the leading Malaysian information agency, on the topic "Uzbekistan and Malaysia: Partnership on the Path to Progress," reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the interview, recent developments in bilateral relations and the prospects for further strengthening them were discussed.


In particular, it was noted that agreements reached during the visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Malaysia in February 2025 had led to significant positive changes in relations between the two countries.


It was emphasized that modern technologies and innovations are currently receiving special attention in bilateral relations, and these aspects are taken into account in the implementation of joint investment projects. Additionally, sustainable growth in mutual trade turnover was highlighted.


The role of youth in ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan was also discussed, particularly in turning the younger generation into a driver of development across various sectors of the economy. Cooperation with Malaysia in the training of highly qualified specialists, as well as necessary measures in this area, were also covered.


The interview stressed that in recent years, Uzbekistan has become an active participant in global processes. At the initiative of the country’s leadership, several UN General Assembly resolutions addressing regional and global issues have been adopted, and this process continues.


The prospects for expanding Uzbekistan’s interaction with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) were discussed. It was noted that Malaysia’s chairmanship of ASEAN this year provides favorable opportunities to strengthen ties between the two regions.


In the context of regional connectivity, it was highlighted that the forthcoming Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Heads of State in Uzbekistan could be seen as a symbolic and significant event. Confidence was expressed that Tashkent and Kuala Lumpur, playing key roles in their respective regions, have the potential to serve as a bridge between Central and Southeast Asia, fostering cooperation and finding joint solutions to current regional and global issues.
