Construction of a wind power plant completed in Bostanlyk

TASHKENT, August 21. /Dunyo IA/.  The 20 MW Charvak wind power plant has been commissioned in the Bostanlyk district of the Tashkent region of Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the Chinese Information Agency “Xinhua”, four wind turbines with a capacity of 5 MW each have been installed at the plant, capable of generating up to 50 million kWh of electricity annually.

Power generation of the new power plant will meet the electricity needs of tens of thousands of local families, save approximately 12 million cubic meters of natural gas and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 24,000 tons annually. Overall, around 20,000 households will be provided with ecologically clean electricity.

Charvak wind power plant project was implemented with financial support from China, which provided a grant of $28 million.
