WASHINGTON, November 5. /Dunyo IA/.  Embassy of Uzbekistan has hosted a meeting with a delegation from the newly established entrepreneurs' association “Business Diplomat”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Delegation comprised entrepreneurs operating in the chemical industry, waste management sector, residential construction, manufacturing and trade of building materials, banking and financial sector, investment sphere and the field of intellectual property.

During the open dialogue, participants were briefed on the positive dynamics of economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States, growth of bilateral trade and investment ties, as well as their significance for strengthening relations between the two nations.

Particular attention was paid by the parties to expanding the product range and volume of Uzbek exports to the United States, searching for new target markets, and opportunities for promoting domestic products in the American market. Attraction of American technologies, modern services, and products in demand within the national economy to Uzbekistan was also discussed.

In particular, the sides reviewed the prospects for cooperation in the production of caustic soda, waste management, the construction of residential and commercial facilities, the manufacturing of building materials, banking and financial services, portfolio investments, and the protection of intellectual property. Issues regarding compliance with American legislative and regulatory requirements in conducting business were also discussed.

With the assistance of diplomats, separate B2B meetings were organized for the delegation with representatives of the American-Uzbek Chamber of Commerce, the U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), International law firm “White & Case”, as well as Uzbek entrepreneurs permanently operating in the country.

Following the negotiations, an agreement was reached to continue cooperation with the “Business Diplomat” association, facilitate the entry of Uzbek entrepreneurs into the U.S. market and promote new investment initiatives.

Among the priority areas for further development are the search for American partners for the joint production of caustic soda, aluminium profiles and building materials, as well as the implementation of prospective projects in the field of waste management.
