MAASTRICHT, October 1. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fozilov visited the Dutch province of Limburg, where he held talks with the regional authorities and the LIOF regional development agency, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting with Limburg’s King’s Commissioner (Governor) Emile Roemer, the sides discussed cooperation in the chemical industry, high technologies, agriculture, transport and logistics, education, and digitalization.

The Uzbek side provided information on the reforms implemented in the country since 2017, economic growth, improvements in the investment climate, and conditions for foreign companies operating in Uzbekistan.

The prospects for cooperation between residents of the Chemelot chemical innovation cluster and Uzkimyosanoat were also discussed. The talks focused on technological cooperation, modernization of production facilities, and implementation of joint investment projects.

During the meeting with the LIOF leadership, the chemical industry, pharmaceuticals, and agrotechnologies were identified as priority areas for cooperation.

The agency expressed readiness to facilitate direct contacts between Limburg-based companies and Uzbek partners interested in entering the Uzbek market and implementing joint initiatives.

The sides agreed to work on presenting Uzbekistan’s investment opportunities to the Limburg business community, establish a group of interested companies, and consider organizing a business mission to Uzbekistan.

The visit also included discussions on cooperation within the framework of the Middle Corridor, establishing ties between transport and logistics companies, and developing cooperation between Maastricht University and higher education institutions in Uzbekistan.
