BREST, September 18. /Dunyo IA/.   State Youth Theatre of Uzbekistan is taking part in the 30^th “Belaya Vezha” International Theatre Festival, which is being held in Brest from September 10^th to 19^th, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

This is not the first time the Uzbek theatre troupe has participated in this prestigious international forum. Two years ago, the artists had already presented their work on the Brest stage.

“Belaya Vezha” is one of the international theatre forums that brings together companies from various countries. The 2026 anniversary program features 31 performances by 31 theatre troupes from 11 countries. Over its 30-year history, the festival has united representatives of the theatrical arts from more than 60 nations.

Within the framework of the festival, the Uzbek theatre presented the play “The Oath”. The production centers on the fates of young Uzbek specialists who were sent abroad in the 1920s to receive education and professional training, and subsequently became victims of political repressions upon returning to their homeland.

Appealing to historical memory, the play reveals the complexity of the choice between a person's individual fate and their responsibility to their country.

Participation in “Belaya Vezha” allowed not only to introduce the Belarusian audience to one of the important chapters of the history of Uzbekistan, but also to continue a professional dialogue with representatives of foreign theatre companies. The festival creates opportunities for the exchange of experience and acquaintance with various theatre schools and creative traditions.

It is of particular significance that such contacts are not limited to a single festival. The repeated participation of the Uzbek theatre in “Belaya Vezha” testifies to the development of sustainable creative ties and mutual interest. Such initiatives contribute to the further expansion of cultural exchange and the formation of long-term cooperation.

In recent years, relations between Uzbekistan and Belarus have been consistently developing in various areas. Alongside political and economic interaction, humanitarian cooperation is becoming increasingly active. Theatre, music, cinematography, exhibition projects and other forms of cultural exchange create new opportunities for direct communication between representatives of the two countries.

Until September 19^th, the festival participants will continue to present their performances, exchange professional experience and introduce audiences to the theatrical traditions of different countries.
