Uzbek Cinema Week to be held in Hungary

BUDAPEST, January 9. /Dunyo IA/. The First Deputy Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan, Avazkhon Tajikhanov, held an online meeting with Hungary's Government Commissioner for the Film Industry, Csaba Káel, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The meeting was also attended by the Director of the Agency of Cinematography of Uzbekistan, Shukhrat Rizaev, and the Director of the Hungarian National Film Institute, Ákos Pál.
The parties discussed prospects for enhancing cooperation in cinematography, expanding cultural and creative ties between the two countries, and preparing an intergovernmental agreement on joint film production.
Particular attention was given to a project for creating a historical film dedicated to the Uzbek and Hungarian travelers Mulla Sadiq and Ármin Vámbéry.
Following the negotiations, agreements were reached to hold Uzbek Cinema Week in Hungary in 2025 and to implement joint film projects. Both sides expressed mutual interest in continuing efforts to strengthen cooperation in this field.
