SEOUL, August 22. /Dunyo IA/.  South Korean electronic publication “Diplomacy Journal” has published an article entitled “The Global Contest for Influence and the New Diplomacy of Peace” highlighting the high assessment of the role of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in global politics and the strengthening of the strategic partnership with the United States, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Publication notes that a letter from U.S. President Donald Trump addressed to the President of Uzbekistan underscores the important political significance of the reforms being carried out in New Uzbekistan. The U.S. leader highly appreciated President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s participation in the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace in Washington and invited him to the G20 Summit in Miami, which demonstrates recognition of Tashkent’s pragmatic foreign policy.

Publication highlights the expansion of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of education, science and investment. “Fulbright” and “FLEX” academic programs, “English-Speaking Nation” (ESN) initiative, as well as internships for Uzbek specialists at leading U.S. universities and high-tech companies, including MIT and Stanford, are being successfully implemented.

An important area of cooperation is also joint projects in green energy, digitalization and infrastructure, with the participation of the U.S. Export-Import Bank and the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC). Uzbekistan’s new initiatives are based on the principles of peacebuilding through human capital development.
