BRUSSELS, August 18. /Dunyo IA/. Electronic publication “Eurasia Focus” has published an article on Uzbekistan’s foreign policy and its historic role in strengthening peace, trust and good-neighbourliness in the region, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Publication notes that, on the eve of the 35^th Anniversary of Independence, one of the country’s key achievements has been the creation of a strong atmosphere of open and trusting dialogue with its neighbours. It emphasizes that independence is not only political sovereignty, but also a nation’s right to live freely, build mutually beneficial cooperation and engage in equal dialogue with the global community.

Publication also highlights the large-scale work on the delimitation and demarcation of borders, which has transformed the complex barriers of the past into modern transport corridors and symbols of cooperation. Particular attention is paid to historic developments, including the trilateral meeting of the leaders in Khujand, the opening of new border crossing points and cross-border trade zones, as well as the multiple increase in regional trade turnover.

According to the publication, Uzbekistan’s initiatives to strengthen stability have received broad support within the United Nations, while international experts view Central Asia as a unified, interconnected economic space united by common aspirations and solidarity.

“Eurasia Focus” notes that the past decade has been a period for New Uzbekistan of successfully building a new architecture of trust, thanks to which open borders and good-neighbourliness have become an integral part of everyday life across the region.
