ANKARA, October 28. /Dunyo IA/.  Popular Turkish publications “Yeni Konya” and “Daily Sabah” are highlighting Uzbekistan’s role in advancing the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), with particular attention to the upcoming summit in Ankara, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

In an article on the upcoming 13th OTS Summit, “Yeni Konya” newspaper emphasizes the importance of cooperation between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in strengthening the Organization and advancing cooperation among its member states.

Publication highlights Tashkent’s initiatives to establish a Permanent Council of the Economic Partnership of Turkic States, with a project office in Tashkent, as well as an Industrial Alliance of Turkic States. It also underscores Uzbekistan’s role in advancing regional cooperation and strengthening Central Asia’s ties with international partners.

In turn, English-language daily newspaper “Daily Sabah” examines the summit from an economic perspective. According to the publication, the preparation of the OTS Strategy for 2027–2031 opens up opportunities to expand trade, investment, industrial cooperation and collaboration in digital technologies.

According to the figures cited in the article, combined nominal GDP of the Organization’s member states reached approximately $2.3 trillion by the end of 2025, while their total foreign trade turnover exceeded $1.2 trillion.

Particular attention is given to Uzbekistan’s economic prospects. The country’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $81.2 billion in 2025, while its additional export potential in OTS member-state markets is estimated at $2.7 billion. The greatest opportunities lie in Türkiye, at $1.8 billion and Kazakhstan, at $500 million.

Publication also highlights the growth of investment cooperation: between 2017 and 2025, investment from OTS member states in Uzbekistan exceeded $11.5 billion. Türkiye became the largest investor among the Organization’s members, while more than 4,500 enterprises with capital from these countries are operating in Uzbekistan.

Among the promising areas, “Daily Sabah” highlights the development of joint production facilities, expanded business financing through the Turkic Investment Fund, and improvements to transport routes. In particular, it examines the possibility of connecting the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway with the Middle Corridor to improve access to European markets.

Digital integration is identified as another area of cooperation, including Uzbekistan’s initiative to establish a “Digital Turk Corridor” and develop joint projects in artificial intelligence.

Overall, Turkish press views Uzbekistan as one of the countries contributing to deeper economic integration among the Turkic states, highlighting prospects for export growth, increased investment and the development of transport and digital infrastructure.
