TASHKENT, October 18. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Romania Daniel Cristian Ciobanu, in an interview with Dunyo IA, congratulated the people of Uzbekistan on the Uzbek Language Day, celebrated on October 21st:
- I congratulate you on the Uzbek Language Day! It is a great honour for me to take part in this event.
I believe that the development of the national language is of immense importance for preserving the cultural and historical heritage of Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan is a country with a great past, and, in my opinion, its present is equally impressive. It is a great privilege to work in such a wonderful country, and I am confident that its future will be even brighter.
Language is extremely important as it can serve as a bridge between nations. Being in a country where such great scholars as Alisher Navoiy lived and created their works in the beautiful Uzbek language is remarkable. As I said, language opens up new opportunities for our cooperation.
I am very glad that, even if to a small extent, I have managed to contribute to supporting the Uzbek language. It is with great pleasure that I recall how in 2022, shortly before the Independence Day of Uzbekistan, I climbed to the summit of Hazrat Sultan at an altitude of 4,083 meters. There, I recorded a video in the Uzbek language congratulating the people of Uzbekistan on their national holiday. This video can be found on the internet.
Uzbek language is a very beautiful Turkic language, the significance of which, in my opinion, is growing day by day. This is also due to the fact that the international authority of Uzbekistan is being significantly strengthened.
Preserving and developing the language means preserving and developing one’s own culture and cultural heritage.
Therefore, this holiday is of great importance. It is a great honor for me to work in Uzbekistan and to have the opportunity to speak at least a few words in the Uzbek language. I hope that in the coming months, I will be able to further improve my knowledge of the Uzbek language.
