Delegation of Uzbekistan takes part in International Drone Summit in Budapest

A delegation of Uzbekistan led by Director of the Agency for Innovative Development, Asror Norov took part in the "International Drone Summit 2025", jointly organized by Ministry of Culture and Innovation of Hungary, Organization of Turkic States, and Edutus University, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
A key element of the program was a meeting with Rector of Óbuda University Levente Kovács. The parties explored opportunities to organize scientific fellowships for young Uzbek researchers and discussed prospects for entrusting the management of a technopark currently being established in Uzbekistan’s Jizzakh region to the university. A preliminary agreement was reached to accept around 50 students from Uzbekistan for internships and academic exchange programs.
The summit focused on advancing cooperation between the countries of the Turkic World and European Union in the field of regulatory frameworks for the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) as well as on promoting scientific research and innovation in this rapidly developing sector.
On the sidelines of the event, Uzbek delegation held meetings with leading Hungarian companies specializing in the development and operation of drone systems. Discussions centered on the exchange of expertise, support for scientific initiatives, expansion of inter-university cooperation and creation of favorable conditions for joint research projects.
The visit culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Agency for Innovative Development of Uzbekistan and the Hungarian Innovation Agency. The document provides a framework for collaboration in the field of innovation, development of technological entrepreneurship and the implementation of joint projects.
The agreements reached are expected to open new avenues for specialist exchanges, joint programs and enhanced effectiveness of scientific research, reinforcing Uzbekistan’s engagement with European partners in high-tech and innovation-driven sectors.
