BARI, September 25. /Dunyo IA/.  At the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Italy, in cooperation with the administration of the Apulia region and the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the region, presentation of Uzbekistan titled “Uzbekistan in the Spotlight” was held in the city of Bari, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan, event was organized to introduce representatives of the Apulia business community to Uzbekistan and to outline the ongoing reforms in the country as well as the established conditions for business and investment. The forum was attended by representatives of around 100 companies. At its opening, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Abat Fayzullaev spoke about the development of Uzbek-Italian relations, opportunities for foreign investors and promising areas of cooperation.

President of the regional Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (“Unioncamere”) Vincenzo Cesareo and the Regional Minister for Economic Development of Apulia Eugenio Di Sciascio noted the unique characteristics and significant potential of the Uzbek market, emphasizing the country's prospects as a strategic partner connecting Apulia and Italy with Central Asia and providing access to the markets of the entire region.

During the meetings held, the Italian side highly praised the conditions created for doing business in Uzbekistan. Following the negotiations, an agreement was reached to organize a business mission of Apulia entrepreneurs to Uzbekistan in November of this year.

As part of the mission, visits are planned to enterprises and farms in Tashkent, Samarkand, and the Kashkadarya region specializing in the cultivation of planting material, horticulture and agricultural processing.
