ALMATY, July 30. /Dunyo IA/. Representatives of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Almaty took part in the presentation of the new Almaty–Urgench–Almaty international air service, jointly organized by Kazakhstan's low-cost carrier “FlyArystan” and Uzbek tourism company “Arda Khiva”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Event was attended by representatives of the Tourism Department of Khorezm Region, tour operators and travel agencies from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, as well as journalists, travel bloggers and professionals from the tourism sector.

During the presentation, participants highlighted the opportunities created by the new air connection between Almaty and Urgench, its key advantages, and the rich tourism potential of Khorezm Region. “Arda Khiva” tourism complex presented special travel packages for “FlyArystan” passengers, offering a comprehensive experience that includes hotel accommodation, guided tours and visits to the region’s historical and cultural landmarks.

Particular attention during the meeting was devoted to the ancient city of Khiva, located just 30 kilometres from Urgench. Participants were informed that the historic centre of Khiva is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List and represents one of the most remarkable cultural heritage sites in Central Asia.

Representatives of “FlyArystan” noted that the presentation marked another important step in implementing the memorandum of cooperation previously signed with the “Arda Khiva” tourism complex. According to the airline’s representatives, the partnership is aimed at jointly promoting the tourism potential of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan and further strengthening people-to-people ties between the two countries.

Regular direct flights on the Almaty–Urgench–Almaty route will commence operations on September 3, 2026, with two flights scheduled weekly - on Thursdays and Sundays.

Speaking at the event, representatives of the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Almaty emphasised that the launch of the new air route will make a significant contribution to further strengthening Uzbekistan–Kazakhstan cooperation, increasing mutual tourist flows, and expanding business, cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries.
