NEW YORK, November 4. /Dunyo IA/.   In March 2027, the city of Columbus, Ohio, will host competitions in the Uzbek national martial art “Turon” as part of the “Arnold Sports Festival” international sports festival, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Inclusion of the tournament in the program of one of the largest sports festivals in the United States will provide an opportunity to present Uzbekistan's national martial art to the international sporting community and expand its recognition abroad.

Competition is organized by the International “Turon” Federation, operating in New York, in cooperation with the Consulate General of Uzbekistan and representatives of the Uzbek diaspora in the United States.

To date, regulations for the tournament have been finalized, defining the conditions for athlete participation, the procedure for conducting the bouts, requirements for participants and key organizational matters.

Athletes and representatives of sports organizations from various countries are expected to participate in the competitions. Tournament will not only determine the strongest competitors but also introduce foreign audiences to the Uzbek martial art, which combines traditional wrestling techniques and the centuries-old sporting heritage of the nation.

In addition to the competitive program, the organizers are considering the possibility of presenting selected elements of the national culture of Uzbekistan to familiarize festival guests with the country's historical and cultural heritage.

Currently, the Consulate General in New York, International “Turon” Federation and activists of the Uzbek diaspora are working on the preparation of the event in conjunction with the festival organizers and the attraction of foreign participants.

Special attention is being paid to ensuring that Uzbekistan's participation is not limited to holding sports competitions, but serves as a platform for a broader representation of the country in the United States.

“Arnold Sports Festival” annually brings together professional athletes, sports enthusiasts, and representatives of various sports disciplines from around the world. Festival, associated with the name of Arnold Schwarzenegger, has over time expanded beyond bodybuilding competitions to become a large-scale international sporting event.
