ABU DHABI, June 7. /Dunyo IA/. Diplomats of Uzbekistan in the United Arab Emirates held a meeting with Jagdish Amarnani, Chairman of TEXMAS (Dubai Textile Merchants Association), the largest textile association in the UAE, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Founded in Dubai in 1990, TEXMAS is the country's largest textile association. It brings together more than 460 companies operating in the textile and garment industry. Member companies are primarily engaged in trade, manufacturing, and re-export activities. The association operates in more than 45 countries worldwide.

In 2000, TEXMAS and Dubai’s Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation signed an agreement on the establishment of Dubai Textile City. Today, the zone plays an important role as a key textile trading hub for the Middle East and Africa.

Following the meeting, which focused on developing mutually beneficial cooperation in the textile sector and increasing exports of Uzbek products to the UAE and other Middle Eastern countries, agreements were reached to provide Uzbek textile companies with commercial space within Dubai Textile City.

In addition, TEXMAS expressed its readiness to facilitate the dissemination of information about the products of Uzbek textile enterprises among its member companies and to support the establishment of direct contacts between entrepreneurs of the two countries. The parties also agreed to organize the production of textile products under UAE company brands at Uzbek manufacturing facilities.

To further strengthen cooperation, online negotiations between the leadership of TEXMAS and the Agency for the Development of Light Industry are scheduled to take place at the end of June 2026.
