President of Uzbekistan extends condolences to the President of the Philippines following deadly earthquake off Mindanao coast

TASHKENT, June 9 /Dunyo IA/. The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has extended his condolences to President of the Philippines Ferdinand Marcos Jr. following the loss of life and numerous injuries caused by a powerful earthquake that struck south of the coast of Mindanao Island, reports Dunyo IA correspondent citing the telegram-channel of the Press Secretary of the Head of our state Sherzod Asadov.

“The Head of our state conveyed words of sympathy and support to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives and wished a speedy recovery to those injured”, - the statement said.

According to media reports and Philippine authorities, at least 35 people were killed and 134 others injured as a result of the powerful earthquake that struck the southern part of the country on June 8. The earthquake measured 7.8 in magnitude.
