ТASHKENT, February 27. /Dunyo IA/. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the basalt production line at the “Surkhon Sandwich” enterprise in Termez district, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the Head of our State, large-scale construction work is underway in all regions of the country. In recent years, priority attention has been given to energy efficiency in the implementation of every major project and the construction of infrastructure facilities. As a result, demand is growing for basalt raw materials and energy-efficient panels and construction materials produced from them.

The enterprise, created in response to this demand, is valued at $26 million. Under the project, production capacities have been launched to process 30,000 tons of basalt per year. This makes it possible to produce finished products worth 345 billion UZS.

The products are supplied not only to the domestic market but also to Tajikistan and Afghanistan.

Ninety-five percent of the raw materials required for the production process are sourced from deposits in Oltinsoy district of the region. The enterprise is equipped with modern machinery from China. It provides permanent employment for 200 people.

While reviewing the production process, the President emphasized the importance of improving product quality, increasing localization and developing export-oriented directions.

In general, the need was noted to strengthen the scientific foundations of the construction industry and to establish a research institute for construction materials.

Here, Head of our State also became familiar with an exhibition of the construction materials industry of Surkhandarya region.

Thereupon, President concluded his visit to the region and departed for Tashkent.
