AICHI-NAGOYA, September 21. /Dunyo IA/. National team of Uzbekistan has won one silver and one bronze medal at the ongoing 20^th Asian Games in the Japanese cities of Aichi and Nagoya, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Second medal for the national delegation was secured by MMA fighter Nodirbek Shavkatov, competing in the under-71 kg weight category. In the semifinals, he conceded to Kazakh athlete Kadyrbek Shinbaev, securing the bronze medal in the competitions, which have been included in the Asian Games program for the first time.

First medal for Uzbekistan was claimed by karate master Khumoyunmirzo Khalimov. In the decisive match in the under-55 kg weight category, he won the silver medal.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan’s MMA representatives Firdavs Atamuradov and Khilola Sobirova have advanced to the finals. In the under-60 kg weight category semifinals, Atamuradov defeated Dastan Kanybek uulu of Kyrgyzstan with a score of 2:0 and will face Mirzobek Umarov of Tajikistan in the final.

Khilola Sobirova also secured a victory in the women’s under-60 kg semifinals, confidently winning both rounds against Dalin Chen of Cambodia. In the final, the Uzbek athlete will compete against Hui Hoon Teo of Singapore.

In the current medal standings, China holds the lead, followed by Japan and the Republic of Korea.

Today, representatives of Uzbekistan will compete across ten sports, including triathlon, shooting, artistic gymnastics, table tennis, MMA, water polo, field hockey, football, 3x3 basketball and wushu. Particular attention will be focused on the final bouts of Firdavs Atamuradov and Khilola Sobirova, as well as crucial matches in the team sports disciplines.
