Average age of Uzbekistan's population is under 30

TASHKENT, June 8. /Dunyo IA/. As of January 1st, 2026, the average age of Uzbekistan's population was 29.5 years, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to the National Statistics Committee, the highest average age of the population was recorded in the city of Tashkent at 32.7 years. This is followed by Bukhara region at 31.1 years, Tashkent region at 31 years and Navoiy region at 30.1 years.
The average age of the population in the Fergana region was 30 years, and in the Republic of Karakalpakstan - 29.8 years. In the Andijan and Khorezm regions, this indicator reached 29.5 years and in the Namangan region - 29 years.
The figure fell below the national average in the Syrdarya region at 28.7 years, the Samarkand region at 28.5 years and the Jizzakh region at 28.4 years.
The youngest population was registered in the Kashkadarya region at 27.7 years and the Surkhandarya region at 27.4 years.
Statistical data indicates that Uzbekistan's population remains relatively young. The highest average age is observed in the capital and several other regions, while the youngest metrics are recorded in the southern provinces.
As of June 8, the permanent population of Uzbekistan stands at 38,496,805 people.
