TASHKENT, October 30. /Dunyo IA/.   Today, decisive matches of the 5^th “Zakovat-Gambit” Chess Tournament took place at the capital's “Zakovat Arena”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

This year, competitions, which brought together a record 5,831 participants, were organized for the fifth time. Amateur and professional chess players from all regions of our country competed for victory in the tournament.

Qualifying stage of the competitions was organized for the first time in regional and online formats, which created additional opportunities for the participants.

Final matches were also attended by the leading chess players of our country, including Jakhongir Vakhidov, Mukhammadzokhid Suyarov, Khumoyun Begmuratov, Afruza Khamdamova and other members of our national team.

Total prize fund of the tournament amounted to 620 million soums.

Masterclasses were conducted for young chess players with the participation of the guests of honour of the competitions - Hungarian Grandmaster Péter Lékó and Indian Grandmaster Humpy Koneru.
