BERLIN, October 26. /Dunyo IA/. Joint roadshows dedicated to promoting the tourism potential of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan were held in the German capital of Berlin and the city of Munich, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Events were organized in accordance with the memorandum signed in July 2026 between the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan, “National PR-Centre” State Institution, and the Azerbaijan Tourism Board. Their primary objective is to promote the “Joint Silk Road Highlights Tour” project on the German market and to popularize tourism packages that combine both countries within a single tourist route.
Events in Germany were attended by a national delegation, representatives of the airlines “Uzbekistan Airways” and “Centrum Air”, tour operators “Tour Link”, “Orient Mice DMC”, “Sitara Travel”, “AROUND CA” and “KAZIN DMC”, as well as Azerbaijani tourism companies and tour operators and travel agencies from Germany.
During the presentations, possibilities of a tourist route connecting such historic cities as Baku, Shamakhi, Sheki, Khiva, Bukhara and Samarkand were showcased. Videos highlighting the rich cultural and historical heritage of the two countries, tourist destinations and conditions created for travelers were demonstrated.
During the B2B meetings, the prospects for expanding mutual cooperation, developing joint tourism packages, and integrating them into the programs of German tour operators were discussed. Special attention during the dialogues was paid to the promotion of new tourist routes and increasing the influx of tourists to both countries.
As part of the cultural program, joint performances by artists from Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan introduced the participants to the national art and traditions of the two nations. In particular, the festive atmosphere was enhanced by the performances of the “Drujba Narodov” («Friendship of Peoples») ensemble, which contributes to the popularization of Uzbek culture abroad.
These events served to strengthen Uzbekistan's international tourism brand, expand practical ties with German travel companies, and popularize joint tourism products based on the Silk Road heritage in the European market.
