Agreements reached in Kuala Lumpur on Malaysian Business Participation in Joint Projects in Fergana Region

• 160KUALA LUMPUR, June 9. /Dunyo IA/. The Uzbek-Malaysian forum “Prospects for Doing Business in Fergana” took place in Kuala Lumpur within the framework of the visit of the Fergana region delegation, led by Khokim Khayrullo Bozorov, to Malaysia, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event was attended by more than 150 representatives of business circles, including over 120 executives of companies and trade associations of Malaysia, such as “MIMOS Berhad”, “Pharmaniaga”, “Mega Fortris Berhad” and others.
Opening the forum, participants noted Uzbekistan's high investment potential and the strategic position of the Fergana region as a potential regional hub for accessing Central Asian markets.
During the event, preliminary agreements were signed, including a memorandum with “Orientex Synergy” on building affordable housing in Fergana, as well as an agreement with the Malaysian Chinese Association on developing joint projects.
Investment initiatives in “halal” pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, the construction of a dry port and the production of organic fertilizers and insect-based protein were also discussed. A separate agreement was reached to host a business mission of Malaysian companies to the Fergana region later this year.
