MAINZ, September 15. /Dunyo IA/. The 51^st International Culture Festival was held in the German city of Mainz, bringing together representatives of various nationalities for cultural dialogue, strengthening mutual respect and fostering mutual understanding, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Within the framework of the event, the Uzbek-German Cultural Society “Doppi” presented a national stand of Uzbekistan, which generated significant interest among visitors.

Stand showcased materials on the rich history and cultural heritage of the country, national traditions and values, applied arts, crafts, cuisine, as well as the modern development of Uzbekistan.

Special attention was dedicated to the promotion of the tourism potential of our country in Germany. The guests were briefed on the ancient cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Shakhrisabz and Tashkent, the historical and architectural monuments located therein, as well as tourist itineraries connected with the Great Silk Road.

German visitors were also provided with information on the large-scale reforms in the tourism sector, the development of modern tourism infrastructure, the creation of new destinations and the favourable conditions being established for international travellers.

A significant place on the national stand was occupied by the gastronomic heritage of Uzbekistan. The guests were introduced to traditional Uzbek pilaf, somsa, national bread and other national dishes, which were showcased as key factors of the country’s tourism attractiveness.

Citizens of Uzbekistan residing in Germany also took an active part in the festival, demonstrating national culture, customs and traditions.
