TASHKENT, November 12. /Dunyo IA/. An automated passport control system, "E-Gate," has been launched in the arrival hall of Tashkent International Airport, reports Dunyo IA correspondent citing the Uzbekistan Airports telegram channel.

The new arrivals zone at Tashkent International Airport is equipped with eight electronic e-gates exclusively for the citizens of Uzbekistan. Passengers simply present their biometric passports to the scanner and undergo facial recognition. Once their identity is verified, the turnstile opens automatically. The entire process takes approximately 15–20 seconds, significantly accelerating border control while maintaining high security standards.
The "E-Gate" system was first introduced at Tashkent International Airport in 2023, within the departure hall of the international terminal. With the addition of the new arrivals section, the total number of automated border control lanes at the capital’s airport has now reached 20 units, enhancing both efficiency and passenger experience.
The implementation of the "E-Gate" technology is reported to significantly reduce passport control processing times, increase the throughput capacity of border checkpoints, and provide enhanced convenience and comfort for passengers.
