TASHKENT, June 12. /Dunyo IA/. A delegation from Sweden led by State Secretary to Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Diana Janse visited Uzbekistan, where a series of meetings and events were held, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Discussions took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and several other agencies, including the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, as well as institutions responsible for healthcare, mining and geology, migration, technical regulation, and pharmaceutical development. The parties reviewed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation.

The talks focused on expanding interparliamentary dialogue, increasing mutual trade, implementing joint investment projects, and developing cooperation in priority sectors such as mining, energy, digital technologies, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and green economy initiatives.

Migration cooperation was also discussed, with emphasis on safe, orderly, and legal labour migration, expanding employment opportunities, and improving consular services.

During the visit, the delegation visited “TechnoPark Tashkent”, “IT Park Uzbekistan”, and “Pharma Park Uzbekistan”, and was introduced to projects in digital economy development, industrial modernization, and high technologies.

The visit resulted in the signing of an intergovernmental agreement on migration and mobility, a joint declaration on a pilot program for simplified legal migration and academic exchange, and a memorandum on sustainable mining sector development.
