ANKARA, September 8. /Dunyo IA/. National Agency for Social Protection of Uzbekistan and the Turkish children’s rehabilitation center “Avrupa Çocuk” discussed the establishment of an institution in Uzbekistan based on the Turkish model of comprehensive children's rehabilitation, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The matter was discussed in Istanbul within the framework of preparing a new project aimed at expanding modern social services for children and strengthening family support.

Representatives of the Agency familiarized themselves with the operations of “Avrupa Çocuk”, which has been providing services to children with disabilities and various developmental needs since 2010. Center specializes, in particular, in working with children with autism spectrum disorders, motor skills and fine motor impairments, speech difficulties and cognitive developmental delays.

Center, covering an area of approximately 3,000 square meters, is capable of serving up to 1,400 children per month. It operates 13 branches in Istanbul, and its services within the framework of relevant programs implemented jointly with the Ministry of National Education of Türkiye are provided to children and their families free of charge.

One of the key elements of the Turkish model is an individualized approach. Following an initial assessment, specialists determine the child's needs and develop a customized rehabilitation and learning program, with progress being evaluated regularly.

The work involves physiotherapists, speech therapists, psychologists, and educators. The methods applied include sensory integration, speech and physical therapy, as well as specialized programs for developing independence and daily life skills. The parties also discussed working with parents, including their involvement in the rehabilitation process and the child's adaptation to a new environment.

Following the visit, the Turkish experience was identified as a potential direction for the development of the children's rehabilitation system in Uzbekistan. The concrete parameters of the future project are to be determined within the framework of further cooperation.
