TOKYO, November 6. /Dunyo IA/.  Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan hosted a meeting with representatives of the Japanese dance ensemble “Nasrīn”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Parties discussed the ensemble's activities, its initiatives aimed at popularizing Uzbek dances among the Japanese public and prospective creative projects.

“Nasrīn” ensemble was founded in 2021 in Yokohama and regularly participates in international cultural events and festivals across Japan. In 2025, group performed at the World “Expo 2025” and in April 2026, it took part in the 3^rd “Lazgi” International Dance Festival in Khiva, where it was honoured with the “Audience Recognition” award.

Special attention during the meeting was paid to the ensemble members' study of the traditional schools of Uzbek dance, particularly those of the Fergana Valley and Khorezm. During their visit to Uzbekistan in 2026, artists also underwent training under the guidance of prominent masters of national dance art.

With the assistance of the Embassy, it is planned to expand the ensemble's participation in events dedicated to the culture of Uzbekistan, as well as in international festivals. Furthermore, the sides discussed the possibility of showcasing Uzbek dances at the International Exhibition “GREEN×EXPO 2027”, which will take place in Yokohama.

A distinct initiative involved incorporating the dance “Namangan Apples”, dedicated to the cultural traditions of the Namangan region, into the collective's repertoire. The project is expected to contribute to strengthening cultural ties between Kanagawa Prefecture and the Namangan region.

Following the meeting, parties agreed to continue cooperation to popularize Uzbek national culture in Japan, develop popular diplomacy and strengthen friendly relations between the two countries.
