ТАSHKENT, October 22. /Dunyo IA/. Today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev also visited Karshi State University, where he reviewed the facilities and conditions provided for students and faculty, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the Head of our State, more than 14,000 students are currently enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs through full-time, part-time and distance-learning formats. The university employs 579 faculty members.

Particular attention is being given to aligning academic programmes with international standards. Programmes in English Philology, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Physics have received international accreditation. Fourteen joint educational programmes have been established in partnership with universities in Russia and Belarus.

Faculty of Languages includes a modern media studio with capacity for 1,000 people, as well as centres for Chinese, German, French, English and Russian languages. Simultaneous interpreters are being trained under international programmes. The International Laboratories Centre, which combines seven laboratories, conducts research in artificial intelligence, machine learning and robotics.

Last year, the university carried out extensive construction and renovation works.

Student living conditions have also improved. The construction of three new student residences created more than 1,300 additional places, fully meeting demand for accommodation. The campus now features a 240-place kindergarten, a library, dining facilities, a youth centre and a conference hall. The university has also established the Lochin football team and built a modern training ground for its activities.

President reviewed the work of the university’s Student Services Centre.

With this, Head of State concluded his visit to Kashkadarya and returned to Tashkent.
