ТАSHKENT, October 17. /Dunyo IA/.  Today, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, President of the Asian Football Confederation, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the Head of our State, meeting focused on further strengthening Uzbekistan’s cooperation with this prominent international sports organization.

Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa highly praised Uzbekistan’s extensive efforts to support amateur and professional football and develop modern infrastructure and training facilities.

Importance of jointly developing football academies and advancing projects to engage more young people in football under the “A Football Pitch in Every Mahalla” program was emphasized.

Both sides agreed to expand practical cooperation in organizing and hosting major football events, including women’s and youth championships, providing technical support for the training of players and coaches and identifying talented footballers.
