President of Uzbekistan receives members of the parliamentary Friendship League in Tokyo

ТASHKENT, December 19. /Dunyo IA/.  President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the vice president of the Liberal Democratic Party, chairman of the parliamentary Friendship League with Uzbekistan and chairman of the Friendship League with Central Asian states Taro Aso, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the Head of our State, topical issues of further expansion of Uzbek–Japanese strategic partnership relations, including along the parliamentary lines of the two countries, were discussed.

A high assessment was given to the contribution of the Friendship League, especially its chairman Taro Aso, to the promotion of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan.

The importance of further intensifying interparliamentary contacts and strengthening the role of parliamentary “friendship groups” in advancing joint initiatives was noted.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to organize the next Interparliamentary Forum in Uzbekistan in 2026.

The Friendship League with Uzbekistan was established in 2002 and currently has more than 40 members. Its membership includes prominent Japanese political figures, authoritative deputies, and diplomats.
