President of Uzbekistan holds a meeting with the Minister of economy, trade and industry of Japan

ТASHKENT, December 19. /Dunyo IA/. Today, as part of the official visit to Tokyo, President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Minister of economy, trade and industry of Japan, Ryosei Akazawa, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to the press service of the Head of our State, topical issues of further strengthening the Uzbek-Japanese strategic partnership relations, expanding trade and investment cooperation, and promoting joint projects, were reviewed.
The Head of our state noted with satisfaction the dynamic growth of Japanese direct investments in Uzbekistan's economy. Over the past few years, the number of joint ventures has increased tenfold, and the total portfolio of ongoing projects has exceeded $20 billion.
Particular attention was paid to strengthening trade and investment ties, as well as deepening industrial cooperation in areas such as alternative energy, decarbonization, critical raw materials, and many others.
The importance of establishing an intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation at the ministerial level to advance joint programs and projects, was emphasized.
An agreement was reached to develop an action program to further strengthen business ties, with the active participation of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and the Japan Association for Trade with Russia and NIS (ROTOBO).
