"He is the first French President to visit Uzbekistan since François Mitterrand in 1994," the publication writing. "From mausoleums to madrassas, he will follow his footsteps into the very heart of the mythical city on the ancient Silk Road that connected China with Europe."

The publication of the popular evening newspaper "Le Monde" notes that French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Uzbekistan on November 1. "This visit, "to which the President attaches great importance," according to the Élysée Palace, is aimed at deepening the partnership," the article says. "By visiting Uzbekistan, the head of the French state hopes to develop economic ties, in particular in the mining sector."

The first official visit took place on October 8-9, 2018 at the invitation of President Emmanuel Macron. The French Republic became the first European state visited by the President of Uzbekistan after taking office in 2016. On November 21-22, 2022, the second official visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to France took place. As a result of the visit, 14 bilateral documents were signed, as well as 59 agreements and contracts worth 6.086 billion euros."

The publication of the oldest daily newspaper Le Figaro notes that the French President is accompanied by a delegation of approximately fifteen executives representing the major groups EDF, Orano, Suez, Lactalis and other companies. A number of contracts must be signed.

It is noted that French companies are already actively involved in modernizing the infrastructure of Tashkent. "The French groups Veolia and Suez have proven themselves in the management of district heating and water supply, respectively," the publication writing. "Since 2016, the French Development Agency (AFD) has financed projects worth more than 1.3 billion euros in Uzbekistan in the fields of urban infrastructure, water management and energy."

The French television channel BFMTV reports in its release that the visit to the Central Asian region is intended to bring France closer to these two former Soviet republics, especially from an economic point of view.
