TASHKENT, July 16. /“Dunyo” IA/. Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov met with the heads of diplomatic missions of the member states of the European Union, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
According to the Uzbekistan MFA, at the meeting, the European side received detailed information about the upcoming constitutional reforms in Uzbekistan, the essence and content of the proposed amendments to the Constitution of the country.
The consistent development of Uzbekistan's cooperation with the European Union in a wide range of areas of common interest was noted. The parties welcomed the recent initialing of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Uzbekistan and the European Union.
Prospects for enhancing Uzbekistan – European cooperation in trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres were discussed. The European side expressed its readiness to promote the diversification of bilateral trade, as well as the development of vocational education in Uzbekistan.
The importance of the successful holding of the ministerial conference on connectivity in November and the meeting of foreign ministers in the “European Union – Central Asia” format in Samarkand was emphasized.
The European side presented the priorities of the Czech Presidency of the EU Council in the second half of 2022, in which special attention will also be paid to the development of relations with the Central Asian states.
