Ambassador of Uzbekistan and OIC Deputy Secretary General discuss practical aspects of developing collaboration


RIYADH, April 6. /“Dunyo” IA/. Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the OIC, Ambassador Ulugbek Maksudov, has met with OIC Deputy Secretary General for Science and Technology Askar Musinov at the headquarters of the organization in Jeddah, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and the OIC in the scientific and technical sphere, as well as the implementation of the initiatives of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, which were put forward during the first OIC Summit on Science and Technology in 2017 in Astana.

Askar Musinov thanked the Government of Uzbekistan for effective cooperation within the OIC. He noted that the OIC supports fruitful cooperation of Uzbekistan with the Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) in Islamabad. He also highly appreciated the International Robotics Championship, which is held annually in Uzbekistan.

The progress of preparations for the second OIC Summit on Science and Technology, which is planned to be held in June via videoconference, was also discussed at the meeting.
