TASHKENT, October 14. /“Dunyo” IA/. On October 12, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Gayrat Fozilov met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea for Multilateral and Global Affairs Ham Sang-wook, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
According to Uzbekistan MFA, the current state and prospects for the development of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea, certain aspects of the interaction between the parties within the framework of the UN and other international structures were discussed at the meeting.
It was noted that Uzbekistan – South Korea relations, thanks to personal contacts between the leaders of the two countries, have acquired the character of a special strategic partnership and are based on the principles of friendship, mutual respect and trust.
Mutual interest was expressed in strengthening trade-economic and investment ties, including through the conclusion of a bilateral free trade agreement.
Views were exchanged on the implementation of projects jointly with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) in the socio-economic sphere in Uzbekistan, in particular on improving the ecosystem in the Aral Sea region.
The schedule of the upcoming joint events at various levels and formats, as well as several international and regional issues were discussed during the talks.
