During the meeting in Dushanbe, the Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan stressed their mutual readiness to search for new opportunities to expand mutually beneficial trade and economic ties

TASHKENT, May 14. /“Dunyo” IA/. Yesterday, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, in Dushanbe, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.


According to the Uzbekistan MFA, the heads of the foreign ministries discussed the current issues of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic, transport and communication, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

The parties highly appreciated the current state of the strategic partnership, which is based on the centuries-old historical ties between the two fraternal peoples and the trusting relationship that has developed between the leaders of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.

The main attention was paid to the issue of further deepening cultural and humanitarian ties. A firm commitment was expressed to intensify humanitarian exchanges, promote the regular holding of joint cultural events in the two countries, and implement tourism projects.

The foreign ministers exchanged views on the most important aspects of interaction within the framework of international and regional organizations, including the Organization of Turkic States and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
