ESCAP supports development reforms in Uzbekistan


TASHKENT, February 5. /“Dunyo” IA/. On February 3, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Farkhod Arziyev has held virtual talks with ESCAP Executive Secretary Armida Alisjahbana, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

Ms. Armida Alisjahbana gave a positive assessment of the progress of dynamic transformations in various spheres of society. She expressed support from ESCAP to active efforts of Uzbekistan to build up regional and interregional development.

ESCAP Executive Secretary assured the organization’s readiness to assist Uzbekistan during its chairmanship in the UN Special Program for Central Asia (SPECA) in 2021.

The parties also discussed the issues of development of interaction in trade, investment, digitalization of the economy and modernization of the agricultural sector.

An agreement was reached on the development of a Joint Action Plan for the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and ESCAP.
