TASHKENT, September 25. /“Dunyo” IA/. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov, as part of his participation in the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, met with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Finland, Pekka Haavisto, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
According to Uzbekistan MFA, the parties expressed their readiness to deepen political dialogue, enhance trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties. The importance of joint investment projects in innovation, education, food and pharmaceutical industries, information technology, agriculture and tourism was noted.
Vladimir Norov expressed interest in attracting advanced technologies from Finland.
The main attention was paid to environmental issues. Finland is ready to provide active assistance in mitigating the consequences of the drying up of the Aral Sea, improving the environmental situation in the region through the UN Multi-Partner Human Security Trust Fund for the Aral Sea Region.
