From September, classes will begin in Tashkent at the Uzbek-German Higher Engineering School, which is being created by the university, where 9 Nobel laureates studied


BERLIN, April 2. /“Dunyo” IA/. On March 30, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany hosted an online signing of a Cooperation Agreement between the Technical University of Berlin (TUB) and Yeoju Technical Institute in Tashkent (YTIT), reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

Representatives of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education and German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) also took part in the event along with the leadership of the two educational institutions.

It should be noted that today more than 30 universities of Uzbekistan cooperate with German universities, participating in various joint research and educational projects. The document signed between TUB and YTIT represents a completely new quality of cooperation in higher education, since this is the first such agreement between Uzbekistan and German universities, which implies the creation of a joint Uzbekistan – Germany higher engineering school.

It is planned that the newly created Uzbekistan – Germany Higher Technical School will train highly qualified personnel for the industry under the standards and requirements adopted in Germany, develop research potential and attract German companies to Uzbekistan market.

In the educational process, special emphasis will be placed on the active development of student mobility programs, including within the framework of programs funded by the European Union and Germany. It is planned to organize summer and winter schools, production practices at the leading enterprises of both countries. At the same time, this promising educational project will be open to other partners, including universities and organizations not only in Germany and Uzbekistan, but also in other countries.

Training at the engineering school will be conducted in English, with the possibility of introducing the study of individual subjects in German. It is expected that the first students will be accepted from the new academic year in September.
