Guide to the Tian-Shan flora published

TASHKENT, February 22. /“Dunyo” IA/. Researchers of the Institute of Botany of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, together with several leading scientists from South Korea, Russia, Finland and Central Asian countries, have completed one of the major scientific works of deep fundamental and great practical importance – a guide to the Tian-Shan flora, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.


The 607-page book “Checklist of vascular plants of the Tian-Shan Mountain System” was published in Seoul (Republic of Korea). It presents a complete list of plant species growing in the Central Asian part of the Tian-Shan Mountains.

The book contains information about the composition, modern nomenclature, synonyms, geography and endemism of 4283 species belonging to 116 plant families found in the Tian-Shan region of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
