TASHKENT, February 4. /“Dunyo” IA/. Today, a meeting with Mr. Ronnie Heine, an Authorized Representative of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation on Central Asia was held at the International Institute for Central Asia, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
Mr. Anvar Nasirov, IICA’s Director informed the guest in detail about the main tasks and activities of the International Institute for Central Asia, established on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
It was especially emphasized that the main priority of Uzbekistan's foreign policy is to strengthen friendly and constructive relations with the Central Asian states, to ensure peace and stability in the region.
The Representative of the Foundation is informed about the forthcoming International Conference “Central and South Asia: Regional Interconnectedness. Challenges and Opportunities” to be held in May 2021, its goals and objectives.
Mr. Ronnie Heine highly appreciated the reforms and transformations in the country carried out under the leadership of the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as well as the ongoing open and constructive foreign policy, especially in the Central Asian region.
It was noted that the new policy of Uzbekistan gave a powerful impetus to the intensification of cooperation in Central Asia, contributed to an increase in the interest of European states to the countries of Central Asia and the processes taking place in the region.
The participants expressed their readiness to establish partnerships between the Foundation and IICA, to hold joint events in order to develop new approaches and initiatives that meet the common interests of all countries in the region.
