ISRS hosts a meeting with Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia


TASHKENT, September 30. /“Dunyo” IA/. Yesterday, a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russia Dmitry Volvach was held at the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan (ISRS), reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

Views were exchanged on the current state and prospects for the development of Uzbekistan – Russian multifaceted interaction in trade, industrial cooperation, education and organized labor migration.

According to Dmitry Volvach, over the past five years, Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev “has set the right accents, thanks to which the country has undergone fundamental changes in the socio-political and socio-economic life of society”. The positive changes in the implementation of modern digital technologies in the management activities of the country’s economy were emphasized.

It was noted that the relations between Moscow and Tashkent, based on taking into account mutual interests and trust, bring practical benefits to both peoples. The development of intensive cooperative interaction between countries contributes to more complete disclosure of the potential of bilateral relations.

According to the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia, “we already have a good groundwork for further joint work in housing and utilities, green technologies, digitalization, the agro-industrial complex, and tourism”.

At the same time, he noted, “the complementarity of Uzbekistan economy is important for Russia, which consists not only in the production of products in demand in Russia, but also in the presence of a huge potential of human resources”.

In this regard, one of the most promising areas of long-term cooperation between the two countries is the education and training of young personnel in demand in the dynamically developing sectors of the economy. In this direction, Russia is ready to support the plans of Uzbekistan's leadership to expand the network of higher education institutions and vocational training centers in the country.
