RIGA, July 13. /“Dunyo” IA/. A representative delegation of Latvia led by the Minister of Agriculture Kaspars Gerhards has arrived in Tashkent to attend the High-Level International Conference “Central and South Asia: Regional Connectivity. Challenges and Opportunities”, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan Kadambay Sultanov held an additional briefing for Latvian participants.
The delegation members reported that they expect practical benefits from participating in such an important conference on the prospects of transport, logistics, infrastructure, technological and humanitarian connectivity in the macro-region of Central and South Asia, which is important not only for Latvia, but also for the entire European Union. It was emphasized that Uzbekistan creates a positive precedent for holding such extensive events, overcoming the difficulties of the COVID-19 pandemic period.
According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan, the Latvian delegation will also hold meetings in the relevant ministries and agencies of the country and discuss the prospects for the development of Uzbekistan – Latvia cooperation in trade, investment, transport, green technologies, IT, education, innovation, agriculture and others.
