TASHKENT, November 5. / “Dunyo” IA/. Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khojayev has been elected Chairman of FAO Regional Conference for Europe and Central Asia during its 32nd session held on November 2-4, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the Minister will lead the conference, coordinate and implement key FAO projects for 2 years before convening the next one.
About 400 delegates from 53 FAO member states from Europe and Central Asia, the European Commission, as well as representatives of international organizations took part in the 32nd session held in Uzbekistan, via videoconference.
The main issues discussed at the conference were sustainable food systems and healthy diets in Europe and Central Asia, youth improvement, employment and rural development, food production and agriculture in the context of the UN Decade of Family Farming, response to the COVID-19 pandemic for food production and farming.
