President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, while chairing a meeting in Andijan, paid special attention to improving the living conditions and the infrastructure in the region.
This year, 6 thousand 196 houses are being built across the province, which is twice as many as those erected last year.
The head of state emphasized the need to introduce a new system of support for housing needs, under which 819 families in Andijan region would receive proper subsidies.
642 kilometers of motor roads and 85 kilometers of drinking water supply networks are intended to be built and repaired in the region this year.
The President urged officials to raise the quality of education and organize vocational guidance starting from 7th grade schoolchildren. This will play an important role in ensuring future employment of youth.
“I am most concerned about youth and women’s issues. They need support and attention. If they have knowledge, a job they love, they will find their place in life, and their mindset will broaden,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev suggested.
The meeting participants also discussed development of tourism and information technologies, as well as crime prevention.
