TASHKENT, December 13. /“Dunyo” IA/. SCO Secretary-General Vladimir Norov addressed the opening ceremony of the 2021 South-South Human Rights Forum, in Beijing, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
The event was attended by about 400 representatives of over 100 countries and international organizations.
President of China Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the forum.
As the SCO Secretary-General noted, the 2021 South-South Forum is an authoritative platform for discussing the current human rights situation and the new challenges and threats affecting it. One of them, Vladimir Norov emphasized, is undoubtedly the COVID-19 pandemic, which tests the resilience of the mechanisms for the implementation of fundamental human rights and freedoms, with which quarantine restrictions should be commensurate.
